1.What attracted you to a life in Hokkaido?

Besides the obvious beauty and the bounties of nature in Hokkaido, I find the people here to be quite inspiring. There are many here who came from backgrounds similar to mine where they have spent a good number years as professionals working in big cities. They then decided to come to Hokkaido to pursue their passions; be it farming, restaurants, the arts or the great outdoors, among many other examples. Many here also came to provide themselves and their children the best possible environment for growth and development. Being among such a community in a resource filled environment was what I needed to have a break-through in my personal development..

2.What was life like before moving to Hokkaido?
How does that compare to living in a house built in Hokkaido?

Before moving back to Hong Kong after university graduation, I spent much of my childhood in Connecticut, USA. Moving to Hokkaido was strangely like home-coming. Everywhere I look I find places reminiscent of Connecticut where I grew up. I'm happy that my children now get to spend time in such a wonderful environment.

3.What are the most important design / construction elements for your home?

My wife and I wanted a home that was comfortable, healthy and conducive to a warm family life. So we looked for a property that was among nature and looked for a home design that fully utilizes the potentials presented. For the interior, we wanted a natural organic environment that is filled with natural lights.

4.Why did you choose Sudo Home?

After we decided to build a house here, we met with a number of firms. Sudo's design philosophy of creating homes that best suit the environments and the occupants caught our attention. When we learned of Sudo's dedication to building homes that are energy efficienct and of high construction standard using the most natural material possible, it was a no brainer.
